If you’re new to lightshow.lol or recently acquired a Vortex Device then you might be wondering:

This guide will cover the basics of using lightshow.lol on a Computer, to use lightshow.lol on an Android Device see the Mobile Getting Started Guide

Desktop Instructions

To begin using lightshow.lol on a Desktop first use a Data-Capable USB Cable to connect the device to the computer.

Opening the Device Control Panel

On lightshow.lol, go to the Device Control Panel in the upper right corner:

• No need to select a device first!
• Click the USB button to open the Serial Port list

Selecting the Correct Port

In the Serial Port List there may be several devices and the COM port numbers may vary. Find the USB JTAG/serial debug unit and click Connect to continue.

If everything is set up correctly, you should see a success notification, and the firmware update panel will appear.

Always update your firmware if a newer version is available!
